For the automatic inspection cabinet of fire pumps, the centerline of the impeller outlet in the volute pump—that is, the centerline of the impeller outlet width—should align with the centerline of the volute inlet. If misalignment occurs, adjust by adding shims between the impeller hub and shaft shoulder. Maintain both centerlines within a 0.5 mm tolerance range. For high-specific-speed pumps, slight deviations have minimal impact on performance. However, for medium-to-low specific-speed pumps with narrow impeller outlets (e.g., 10 mm width), a 1 mm deviation from the volute centerline significantly affects fire pump performance. After adjustment, it is recommended to control the deviation between the two centerlines (impeller and volute) within 5% of the impeller outlet width. Inspect and adjust the packing in the fire pump control cabinet, replacing it as required. Adjust the mechanical seal (refer to the manufacturer's instructions provided with the pump or consult the manufacturer).

During maintenance of vertical fire pumps, fault diagnosis is a critical step. Below are several common faults and their remedies to facilitate targeted troubleshooting. During inspection, the intelligent inspection controller outputs commands to sequentially check main circuit contactors, with return signals sourced from the main and auxiliary contacts of each contactor. The allowable feedback signal time must not exceed 2 seconds. After completing the main circuit inspection, the inspection controller sends the next inspection command to the pressure-free inspection device. Upon receiving the command, the device sequentially performs low-speed, pressure-free inspections on the fire pumps. During inspection, the motor operates at low speed, and the system does not generate water pressure. Throughout the inspection process, if the system receives a fire alarm command, the intelligent inspection controller immediately issues a stop inspection command, instantly activating the fire pump to fulfill firefighting duties. Should abnormal operation occur during inspection, the controller records the faulty branch number and fault category while triggering audible and visual alarms. Simultaneously, it uploads the fault data (to the central fire control room or building management duty station) and notifies relevant personnel for maintenance, ensuring firefighting equipment remains fully operational.
